Laser welding
One could write a whole book about the possibilities and limitations of laser welding.
However, what we want to do under this heading is to define the boundaries within which Lastec Ltd moves in terms of equipment and capabilities.
There are also purely metallurgical restrictions on the choice of material combination. The best way to outline these two main aspects is through:
- A photographic overview of typical workpieces giving details of their dimensions and penetration depth of the weld, and indicating the industry (market) in which they are used
- A material combination matrix.
Experience has taught us over and over again that the question as to whether a particluar welding is feasible is best answered by step-by-step clarification during process development.
This naturally does not include:
- Alloys that have proved to have good welding properties in configurations with non-critical welding geometries.
